Healthy, Fudgy Fat Bombs

If you're into the whole wellness world, you know that 2017 was the year of healthy fats. Fat bombs are little treats that bloggers like Lee From America swear by–and for good reason! While some fat bombs are a mix of nuts, seeds, nut butters, and sometimes dates, I never loved them because I didn't have a food processor and my blender at college isn't the best. One day, I stumbled upon this article on Mind Body Green and they proposed a different type of fat bomb. These bad boys are made my heating up a base of coconut oil and other ingredients depending on the flavor (cacao powder, coconut butter, lemon, etc.) in a small sauce pan and then freezing them in small molds.Believe it or not, the next day my best friend and I made both recipes in the article and were immediately hooked. These curb any sugar craving–especially chocolate and I noticed they satisfied my craving for a snack in the middle of the afternoon. After making the recipes a few times, I got a feel for what needed to go in in order to make a good fat bomb. When I got home for break, I knew I wanted to get a little more creative and see what flavor combinations would work.I ended up making three, delicious flavors: maple sunflower butter, peppermint coconut, and golden milk. In all honesty, I eyeballed all of the ingredients so I don't want to give you a definite recipe. Head over to the article on Mind Body Green for exact measurements and then adjust the ingredients if you want to make my flavors!

Maple Sunflower Butter

Ingredients:

  • coconut oil
  • sunflower butter (about as much or a little more as the coconut oil)
  • maple syrup (i did a few tablespoons but it depends how you like it)
  • OPTIONAL: cinnamon, i think this would add a nice kick!

Peppermint Coconut

Lemme tell ya, this tastes juuuuust like the inside of a york peppermint patty #yumIngredients:

  • coconut oil
  • coconut butter
  • a few teaspoons of coconut extract

Golden Milk

  • coconut oil
  • a little bit of coconut butter
  • Further Food's Turmeric Tonic (2-3 scoops)

I have been loving Further Food's Daily Turmeric Tonic. Golden Milk lattes are all the rage right now which is not surprising because of all of the amazing benefits of turmeric. Turmeric boosts cognitive function, supports healthy muscle and joint health, fights inflammation, detoxes, and supports cardiovascular function AKA it has superpowers! Golden Milk (which is essentially the turmeric tonic powder plus milk) is a mix of turmeric, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, bowellia, and schisandra berry powder–if you like chai lattes, you'll like golden milk lattes. If you're thinking of trying out the Daily Turmeric Tonic, be sure to use my code NATURALLYNICOLETTA10 for money off your purchase. Be sure to check out all of their other awesome products, like collagen peptides. :)

With fat bombs, the possibility for creativity is endless–that's the beauty of them. Let me know if there are any other fat bomb flavors you'd like to see. Let me know how you like them!XO,NikkiDisclaimer: This post is not sponsored and I am not getting paid for any of these products. While I am a brand ambassador for Further Food, all opinions are mine and I bought my products myself. Further Food is a brand that I stand behind and want to share with you all. Thank you!
