24 Hours in New York City

I have become the queen of quick weekend trips to New York City this year. Being in Baltimore (only a 3 hour train ride) gives me access to one of the greatest cities–but only like to go for a few days at a time. This past weekend, if you have been following along on my Instagram, I went for a whopping 48 hours. But honestly, I had the best time. It's kind of a tradition for my cousin, his girlfriend, and I to go out for sushi when I get in from Baltimore. No matter how late I get in, we still go. So there's my first spot:

10PM: Blue Ribbon Sushi

You can't go wrong at Blue Ribbon, everything is amazing. This time, we started with a house salad and crispy rice with avocado. As for sushi? Not 100% sure the specifics of what we ordered (some kind of spicy platter, crab roll, and a yellowtail/salmon roll)–it was all delicious!Pro-tip: This place is always packed, try and get a reservation ahead of time if you can!

9AM: Y7 Yoga Studio

I love starting my day off with yoga. Y7 yoga studio is all the rage right now and I am so happy I finally tried it out! If Soul Cycle and hot yoga had a baby, it would be Y7 yoga. The room it pitch black except for a few candles and each flow is paired with music (once you get further into the class, they play rap to go along with the intensities of the flows). While this was not the most technically advanced classes I have taken, I did sweat. And I did have a great time.If you are new to yoga but still want to try out Y7, don't fret! These classes are meant to be for all levels. I went to the SoHo studio but there are several locations throughout the city (and in California!)

10:30AM: Jack's Wife Freda

You may be familiar with this restaurant from their beautifully curated and aesthetically pleasing Instagram. Brunch on a Saturday morning is not ideal because it does get packed but since I was traveling alone, I snagged a spot at the bar.I started my meal off with a freshly squeezed cantaloupe juice–I hate melon and this juice was amazing. I had a hard time deciding what to order (everything looked so good) but the bartender suggested I get a breakfast bowl which included quinoa, spaghetti squash, broiled tomato, kale, radish, avocado, and two poached eggs...it did not disappoint.

11:30AM-whenever: SHOPPING!

How can you visit NYC and not go shopping? Especially in SoHo. After brunch, I wanted to walk around and let my food digest so I walked a couple of blocks and hit all of my favorite stores: Urban Outfitters, Zara, Aritzia, Bershka, etc. I wasn't too successful (maybe a good thing) but I did buy a pink, furry coat at Bershka! #YAAASSBefore stopping for a midday pick me up, I wanted to stop by the Glossier Showroom in SoHo (towards Little Italy). While the actual showroom was really cute and it was cool to actually see the Glossier products in person, the place was packed wall to wall so I did not spend much time there.

2PM: Cha Cha Matcha

If you don't like matcha are you even a real wellness blogger? Haha! Just kidding–but most of us do adore matcha. I had to be hella basic for a little and check out Cha Cha Matcha in SoHo. This place is the real deal, you all, and I want to go back every single day! So much matcha to try, so little time. I ended up getting a ginger turmeric matcha latte with coconut milk and a slice of pumpkin bread for a snack. The latte was creamy with the perfect amount of spice from the ginger–highly recommended.Next time, I want to try their matcha croissant and matcha soft serve....I love matcha so matcha! ;)

3PM: Chelsea Market/Highline

I think I was feeling ambitious last weekend because I walked all the way from SoHo to Chelsea (like two miles). I easily could have taken the subway or even a cab buuuut it was nice outside so might as well. When I visit the city, I usually stay in SoHo so I don't get to Chelsea Market or anywhere more uptown as often as I would have liked. I am so happy I got to sit outside on the Highline and admire the beauty of the city/people watch. Moments like that remind me of how small we are on this planet. It's nice to stop and take a step back every once in a while–it really puts things into perspective.

4-6PM: Designated resting/nap time

New York city is exhausting. Whether you are there for a weekend or a lifetime, everyone always seems to be exhausted. My biggest piece of advice? Rest when you can! Whether this be going back to where you are staying and taking a nap or sitting in a coffee shop reading a book. I personally used this time to charge my phone and start reading a new book I got, The Lonely City by Olivia Laing.

7:30PM Il Postra Accanto

Growing up in an Italian family, I am picky when it comes to Italian food. This cute little restaurant has nailed the atmosphere/food of your Italian grandma with a modern twist. We started with a tuna crudo (tuna with avocado, balsamic, and orange) and I ended up getting their homemade fettuccini in a white wine sauce with shiitake mushrooms and tomatoes.Pro-tip: Although it isn't on the menu, ask for the gorgonzola gnocchi with spinach dish–it is sinful! And that is all for my 24 hours in NYC! As some of you may know, I did attend The Grammy's last weekend (the reason I visited the city) but that was an all day ordeal so nothing too exciting in New York. The beauty of New York is how much there is to do. Here are a few restaurants and things that I adore but didn't get to this trip:

That is all for now, folks! I have been incredibly busy this year so far and have unfortunately not been on a great posting schedule. I am going to work hard from now on to be more consistent with content. We shall see where this goes![embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q1OYq0JJj8[/embed]
